I want to live for 100 Years!!!
Being a live is a gift from God. You may be wondering where did he get this? Anyway, i neither have an answer for you but I will explain why I am coming with this crazy idea. One day I was preaching on letting God know your request and I gave my desire to live for 100 years. Some members laughed while others did not believe my outrageous request. When I asked my pastor how many years he wanted to live on earth – his was higher than mine (120 years). I told him he qualifies to preach in my funeral since we have only a gap of one year apart. God answers prayer however foolish they may look like. As you may be aware, God can say YES or NO or ADJUST your request according to His good plans and perfect will for you. I don’t suggest that you ask God for the years you want to live. That depends on you. As for my pastor, Moses and some of his family members lived for 120+ plus years and so why not him. As for me, 100 is descent enough. However, we need to know that God’s wisdom of allowing us to live or ascertain the exact number of years you live on this earth is quite perfect and that is why you don’t have to worry asking for years you live. As for me, I did it for three reasons:- It reminds of how fleeting my life is. I managed to get an app called Countdown which is able to tell me how many days are remaining before I die . It does mean that I will die when it reads 0. It can happen earlier or even after. I have even shared with God about it and he know about my thoughts. So, it is not a do or die thing. The countdown idea informs me that days are going and this world is not my home. I am fully reminded that I am just a sojourner. It doesn’t matter the beautiful home I will have (I am yet to realize my dream home), the clothes I wear etc. I will one day leave everything behind and my relationship with God shall be the only significant thing that will matter.
- It reminds me to make use of my time well. Hypothetically, as of today 21023 days left. Tomorrow it will be 21022. Imagine these reducing days? I need to know that every day counts by me doing what matters most. This is when making priorities in life make sense.
- This gave me a unique opportunity to share with my family about death. My wife of course was not happy about this subject. My daughters’ said NO (of course daddy’s girls). Imagine one boy said “daddy I will take your car”. I almost stopped the discussion. But I knew he was just a tiny boy. Any I was ready for anything.
