Investment is important. However, it is more important to invest in things that outlive us. I have tried to invest in materials things and the more I do, the more I learn from the experience s encountered and always look forward to do better. One of the blunders I want to finish with is the blunder to care more of things that diminish when we leave this earth while caring less for things that leave true legacies for us and others.
In the past weeks I have shared more of my financial investment nightmares and there are more even there is a serious one I am going through right now that time will not allow to share. I thought when you go through one, you will automatically go over the others. I have realized every investment venture is unique but the more you get used to them the better you are. I am still in the school of investment and there seems to be no graduation but rather passing of CATS which is good by far rather than waiting for perfection in investment which even the cleverest gurus in this field may not attain. Learning is a process and not a destination. I have suffered from my perfection and don’t do the same though we should not confuse perfection with excellence. Excellence is great to be pursued at all times in all things. Use excellence to get to perfection and not the other way around.
I have learnt that the investment in money is great. It gives us the means to stimulate other opportunities to serve others better but is it not the only way to invest for our better future and others. Our spiritual connection with God matters a lot even when we die, we are assured of eternal life. Our family connections and doing the best for them pays dividends a great deal for posterity when we are gone. Virtues such as humility, simplicity, honesty, empathy, love, kindness, hospitality etc. mean more than billions of monies we may have. Investment to gain financial freedom/strength/stability are worth but of more value is investing in things that are more fundamental and worth living for even when the roll is called up yonder.
When years go by, let’s learn to spend more time and resources to invest in things that matter most both for now and forever. Blessings.
