Compassion with passion
Being in Tenwek Hospital has introduced me to the medical world and especially where we believe in a compelling slogan of humans treating while Jesus Heals. The witness of Christ is so real with miracles happening every day in the theaters of this wonderful place.
Such passionate compassion comes through individuals that God uses. One such individuals among others is Dr. Agents Odera a Consultant Surgeon. Her passion for touching lives of young children through surgery is a priority. One of the things I found many people in Tenwek Hospital talking including her fellow staff is close follow up of her patients after every surgery. She would follow them in the recovery rooms and be with them until she is sure that all is well and stable to be handled by other professionals. She is said to just be at the bed side or just being there monitoring and doing all she can to ensure all is well. I find this to be beyond the normal acts of compassion of going an extra mile as a surgeon. It is indeed exemplary and encouraging to see such. It is exceptional and such are the works that touch the heart of God.
Many are called and working in various areas but it takes a few such as Dr. Agneta Odera to go beyond the call of duty to do what God has laid in their hearts to their best. These are examples of transformational leaders whom we can follow their examples. God bless Dr. Agneta and her colleagues who have demonstrated such great hearts to serve humanity in these special ways. You can also be one.
